The running fraction will start from Piano Provenzana. 42 KM – 2200 M D+. The cut off for passing the 28k mark is 17 hours from the start (by 10:30 pm).

The cut off time to finish the WFT-EXTREME ETNA is at 01:00 on 26 October 2025.

It is a highly technical route and completely on dirt and lava soil. You will live an unforgettable experience with the smoking peak of Etna to mark your every step and every effort. Trail shoes are mandatory and low sand gaiters and poles are suggested. It is mandatory to bring with you the materials listed in the regulations and a sufficient water reserve. These items will be checked by the race judges in Piano Provenzana before starting the run . You will cross the Snow Cave, the Volcanic Bomb and the Serracozzo Cave, the 1911 Buttonhole, the 2000 Fire Hinge and other wonders that only an active volcano can give. Aid stations will be at km 28 and the finish. At km 28 you must be accompanied by your supporter for the remaining 14 km.

The supporter, during registration, must deliver his competitive medical certificate to the organisers. Together you will face the most difficult part of the run course, the ascent to 3000 meters of the Etna Observatory and a highly technical descent that will take you back in a few kilometres to the 1800 metres of Piano Provenzana.

Here you will find the finish, that you will never forget. You will be crowned “Lord of Fire” with the lighting of a torch, the torch of the Gods from the Forge of the God Vulcanus to represent this unique record of yours in the world.
